I have a passion for helping children, teens, and their families navigate the many challenges that life can bring. I work to provide a supportive and understanding space that allows for self-expression, advancement of positive coping skills, the learning of emotional regulation, development of effective communication and the building of resilience so that your young person can thrive in all areas of their life. I strive to make therapy engaging, approachable, and fun. I utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities including but not limited to play therapy, cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and parent-child interaction therapy.

My belief in the power of therapy is rooted in the understanding that every individual possesses the strength and resilience to overcome challenges. Together, we will collaborate to identify all your strengths, cultivate coping strategies, and foster a sense of empowerment within yourself.

I am trained in EMDR and CPT which are used to treat symptoms of trauma and PTSD. I am also certified in DBT to help teach effective coping strategies. I have experience with working with adults who struggle with PTSD. I also specialize in substance use disorders.

Jess Dickison

As a counselor, I strive to provide my clients with a safe space where they feel heard and navigate challenging experiences. Because I believe clients are their own experts, my goal in counseling is to help those I work with grow in self-awareness and develop tools that will empower them to live an authentic life. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults. I am a LGBTQ+ ally and love working with members of the community. I have experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, addiction and marginalization. The forms of treatment I use are person-centered counseling, dialectical behavior therapy, and emotion focused therapy. Through my own experiences as a counselor and as a client, I know that counseling can be an incredible journey full of healing, hope, and growth.

I believe most of our pain and hurt come from keeping our stories hidden or not feeling understood when we get the courage to share. I want to be an empathetic listener for my clients while also providing them the tools and skills they need to grow. As Carl Rogers said, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I am passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients full of connection and being heard.

Heather serves those with depression and anxiety as well as more complex cases and issues including traumas, childhood traumas, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, family and relational issues, attachment issues, dual-diagnoses, mood disorders, and complex PTSD.

She seeks to provide an empowering, trauma-informed, safe, and judgment-free environment where clients are encouraged to develop the life they want to live. Heather also challenges her clients’ thinking patterns that may impact their ability to accomplish their goals.

Heather uses her experience and education in CBT, DBT, EMDR, family systems work, and Internal Family Systems, to help provide healing from the complexities and difficulties of life. Her aim is to help empower others to accomplish their goals, whatever they may be, in a collaborative and supportive environment. Sometimes, that also means some lovingly direct real-talk.

I specialize in working with clients to process trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and faith transitions.

Trauma and attachment issues are often so intricately connected. I help clients to process their trauma, understand their attachments and work to change self-defeating cycles due to both. Trauma work can be accessed through traditional talk therapy, as well as the Brainspotting and other therapeutic modalities that I offer.

Growth and vulnerability can be difficult, but so incredibly rewarding. In therapy, you can walk through the difficulty side-by-side with a caring clinician who is invested in helping you achieve your goals.”

Carlos Gomez

Carlos is a trauma therapist who helps people work through painful life events to find healing. He works with people that feel broken and abused beyond repair.

Carlos finds joy in helping people “come back to life” and to live their fullest life. He believes we are on this earth to help one another, to be both teacher and student, and to make our stay for ourselves and others a better place.

He specializes in trauma relating to betrayal, PTSD and CPTSD in addition to also treating anxiety, depression, grief/loss, shame, pornography compulsion and feelings of worthlessness etc.

Carlos is a husband and father to three girls. He started his professional education in Northern Utah at Utah Valley University and concluded online at the University of Southern California. He is very personable and loves to get to know people. Trauma Treatment & Counseling is his practice which has been a great fit for mixing his love of people with his ability to heal.
